What is the need for a path?

The need for a pedestrian pathway is high along the narrow Butler Creek roadway, especially when you consider: 

  • Today there are ~ 50 residences in the immediate area but once West Pointe is complete there will be well over 200

  • Both property owners (Other World Brewery & Hanson Ranch) are willing to donate a public access easement pending their approval of the final design.

  • The path would connect housing developments along Butler Creek to nearby Desmet School; Missoula County Parks trail along Expressway; and in future phases possibly to Grant Creek Trail in the drainage to the east.

  • Expressway & West Broadway businesses would benefit by having a safe, aesthetic open space trail for employees to get some fresh air on their break.
